My quick rating - 3,3/10. "A Love Story Guaranteed Not to Suck." I am IN. If not sucking means, different but still bad, then they nailed it. This one had a shot at being campy zombie fun if they didn't waste literally the first hour of the movie making stupid jokes and attempting to build character. You couldn't for a second take the development they were creating seriously at all since it all occurred in a strip club. Anthony Clark Pierce seems pretty unfamiliar with that subject which may explain the humor of this movie. The strip club appears to be someone's closet, for example. The budget is ultra-low but they do have some successful practical effects towards the end when the horror part finally comes into play and the club is overrun by zombies. They don't bother explaining the undead existence which sometimes can work but in this case, it might have been an excuse for Pierce to not get made fun of by his buddies for making a sappy movie. There is an entire love story going on in this flick. We have a recovering alcoholic trying to keep his relationship together with his ex-stripper woman. Names need not be mentioned since you won't be seeing them again. But when she decides to leave him and go back to the pole, he must try and get her back. If you took this script and just obliterated 20 pages of the 180 or so, you would seriously have NO horror and would really be pissed. But in trying to make this grindhouse, they did give us the old fake commercial intro that was really low-brow humor along with the film stock reel popping filter to feel the 50s drive-in. I can assure you with the story presented here it would've been booed out of any venue expecting the schlock violence. The boobs presented here were surely not enough to make this one anything more than one of those for cinephiles to check out once and never return to again. I know I won't be revisiting anytime soon. However, I might have seen the worst CGI effects ever used in some truck scene. It was awful which is a trend in this one.
