My quick rating - 4,9/10. This flick explores the disturbing and eerie world of two adopted siblings, Tin and Tina, who possess a rather unsettling appearance and an ultra-Catholic upbringing that leads them to interpret the Holy Bible quite literally. While the movie certainly captures attention with its unique premise and creepy atmosphere, it falls short in a few key areas, ultimately resulting in a mixed viewing experience. One of the film's strengths lies in its ability to create an unsettling ambiance throughout. The visual presentation of Tin and Tina, with their albino features, contributes to the eerie feeling that permeates the entire narrative. The movie effectively utilizes this visual aspect to establish an uncomfortable sense of foreboding and intrigue. The pacing also plays a role in maintaining the tension, with the plot progressing steadily and keeping viewers engaged. However, where "Tin & Tina" falters is in its portrayal of the parental decisions made by Lola (Milena Smit) and Adolfo (Jaime Lorente). While the intention may have been to highlight the characters' questionable choices, the film often ventures into the realm of implausibility. Some of the decisions made by the parents are simply frustrating and defy common sense, which can be frustrating for viewers who expect more logical character motivations. Even taking in these stupid decisions, later in the film it descends into borderline impossibilities of consequences that literally will having you laughing at a time you shouldn't be. Despite these shortcomings, I found the flick managed to create a genuinely creepy atmosphere and deliver some genuinely unsettling moments. The performances by the kids portraying Tin and Tina are commendable, adding to the film's eerie tone. Without their unsettling nature in the film, it completely fails to even entertain. I think fans of psychological horror and those seeking something offbeat will get value out of this one, but it falls short of being a memorable flick.
