My quick rating - 5,1/10. Sounds like a corporate daydream, so let's see what it is. Oh well, not corporate at all. I can definitely see that Tom Meeten has been checking out Michael Richards to get some inspiration for Paul Dood. This flick has some things to say about a few topics including the individuals obsession with fame. Incorporate everyone watching trendladder on their phones, and you know where the other dig is at. But just an everyday movie poking fun at the problems with this generations social shortcomings wouldn't be enough for a good flick. In what is clearly inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Paul decides he has had enough after being wronged by 5 specific people in his quest for fame and sets out for revenge. In more slapstick of fashion, he ends up killing each one in bizarre and gross out ways. In reality, this is more comic book style violence that won't have your tummy turning. I do suppose the humor may be somewhat catered to the British since I found it very hit or miss throughout the 95 minute romp. The setup for this violent lunch break does take a bit too long to develop and in that time also doesn't provide much in the line of good laughs. Once it does get going, the mix of accidental murder and petty humor gets more entertaining. It just never really took any of the mentioned topics to a high level. The laughs were never consistent, the violence was never over the top and the vengeance was always immediately followed with silly facial expressions that Meeten has borrowed from to many actors and comedians to name. It does have a campy and possible cult-ish feeling to it so I suppose it might be a hit for that reason later on but as it stands, I would call it mediocre entertainment that will get a few solid chuckles out of you. You cannot really ask for more than that from a freebie.
