Notes

My quick rating - 4.8/10. That was a pretty well-edited plane crash scene for what I assume is a fairly meager-budget flick. Characters from different backgrounds are thrown together when the plane they're traveling on crashes into the Pacific Ocean. The development of these characters helped make you sympathetic to those who may survive this ordeal. A nightmare fight for survival ensues with the air supply running out and dangers creeping in from all sides. Director Claudio Fäh did an adequate job of balancing the threats without overdoing the reliance on one of them. Clearly you want to see more from the sharks that have managed to surround and sometimes infiltrate the submerged plane but they opted to also put ample time into dealing with the humans involved. Although the acting is a bit questionable, the presentation of who they were carried past that issue. I would've sunk this one a bit lower in rating had the impressive CGI effects not saved some of the scenes. Often there is a lot of downtime in anything going on and pointing that out in a 90-minute movie is never a good sign. However, it doesn't take long for an excellent-looking bit of effects to build the tension back up in what can happen next. If you are looking for something along the lines of the 47 Meters Down flick, you are not going to get that level of tension but if you want just a bit less fear and a lot more survival, this one may work for you. I always want to point out the "unbelievable" factor but for once I am just not going to bother because how in the world would any of us know how this situation would play out? So I'll be fine suspending my disbelief and just enjoy the entertainment.
