Parasyte: The Grey
A group of humans wage war against the rising evil of unidentified parasitic life-forms that live off of human hosts and strive to grow their power
After a brutal attack, Jeong Su-in learns she may not be the same person as before. Choi Jun-kyung discovers the monsters are forming an organization.
Looking for his sister, Seol Kang-woo investigates Saejin Church, where he finds Su-in. But he soon encounters trouble - and the two fight to escape.
After raiding Saejin Church, Jun-kyung begins suspecting Kim Chul-min is hiding something - later tracking him down meeting with Su-in and Kang-woo.
After revealing everything he knows to Chul-min, Kang-woo agrees to help save Su-in. But when the plan goes awry, lives are put at risk.
Despite being on the run, Su-in tries to warn Jun-kyung. But as Team Grey's raid plays out, Su-in and Kang-woo realize it's all part of a bigger plan.
Su-in meets with Seol Kyung-hee, who requests an alliance. But the parasites' ploy for power goes into full effect - and it's up to Heidi to stop them.

My quick rating - 7.3/10. A group of humans wage war against the rising evil of unidentified parasitic life forms that live off of human hosts and strive to grow their power. There are some exceptional effects in this one. That image below is exactly how it looks in real-time with the actors and it is smooth. I hadn't read anything about this one beforehand and found it to be a nice obscure find. The action in this is well choreographed but the standout for this entire show is the CGI. The effects are seamless creating creatures that morph and twist so naturally while fighting. It looks so good that it doesn't take long to just accept that is how the aliens are. The show jumps right in with both feet and doesn't give a lot of backstory or character development beforehand so the creators of this one were sure to get you hooked quickly. The story itself of some parasitic aliens assimilating with the humans is not anything new but it is always an entertaining plot when done right and this show definitely does it well. I watched a dubbed version so I cannot speak much about the acting aside from Jeon So-nee who ends up as part alien, part human, and does a commendable job in straddling both sides of their ways. Plus she often doesn't have to say much since she also uses traits from each to attack in her own unique way. There are some twists and turns along the way and could potentially return for future seasons although it would seem to be a pretty expensive venture just judging by the effects. I will admit I wasn't familiar at all with the anime this was based on but if this is any reflection of how good that was, then I would think fans of the source material will be pleased they didn't drop the ball here.
