Waitress

Jenna (Keri Russell) has been saving money from her tips as a waitress so she can leave her abusive husband Earl (Jeremy Sisto). Convinced that her skills as a baker of unusual pies can support her on her own, she plans to run away, but Earl always finds her and forces her to come back home and takes her saved money. Then, she goes to her gynecologist only to find that she is away and a handsome new doctor (Nathan Fillion) has taken her place for a while. When he reveals to her the test results that indicate she is pregnant, she becomes upset. While comforting her, they begin an affair that continues during her pregnancy. Jenna regrets her affair and doesn't want to depend on the doctor to rescue her from her troubles. She decides to try to win $25,000 in prize money for a pie baking contest, hoping she can escape her chaotic life. Every day, she shares her disappointments and hopes with the owner of the diner, old Joe (Andy Griffith) who finds pleasure in her pies and her stories of life.
