My quick rating - 5,4/10. A fairly well made drama about growing up in a culture that is so rooted in pride. The movie tries to steer away from the usual "ghetto" type, but really doesn't stick to the subject matter too often. I was a bit torn since a part of me liked the positive message it attempted to convey, but on the other hand the method to which they got to it was not very positive. I assume that was the point of the movie, though. A good indie flick that I really don't think was made to be a drama and just somehow turned into a crime/drama. It seemed like to me they started with an attempt to give viewers an insight into the "lowrider" and what it may have meant but ultimately took it from a docu/drama, into what it was. Another crime movie.
