Desperate to get back on top, venture capitalist Joel meets Nicolaus and Lester, entrepreneurs seeking investors for Empathy, Inc., a virtual reality startup offering realistic and moving experiences for users by placing them in the lives of the less fortunate. Joel gets the startup its funds but soon discovers the tech's creators have a far more insidious agenda.

Notes

My quick rating - 4,9/10. For a pretty decent idea, this movie ended up being far to flawed to be noteworthy. The idea that the virtual reality that the people are using isn't so virtual after all is a good plot, but the mystery that is concocted is just not plausible. This isn't in a sci fi give me a break way, it is just the ideas presented didn't ever work out in the script itself. I was more bored seeing what the characters would do than immersed into the concept itself. Too bad, it was a nice sci fi noir touch in being black and white (for no good reason) but not something to ever watch again (i watched twice to make sure).
