The shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large in the small town of Mill Valley for generations. It's in a mansion that young Sarah Bellows turns her tortured life and horrible secrets into a series of scary stories. These terrifying tales soon have a way of becoming all too real for a group of unsuspecting teens who stumble upon Sarah's spooky home.

My quick rating - 6,6/10. Been a while since a truly good horror movie came around. Either that or my brain is scrambled from all the crap ones I have seen this month so far. But this is a very good entry into the genre. The movie is so techinically solid (Del Torro, what do you expect) that each story contained within is so seemlessly blended into the entire outcome. When the outcast kids get stuck in a haunted house, they make a mistake, borrowing the book the deceased little girl read from while imprisoned in the basement. There is more to the story than that, but this leads to those around them to be "written" into the book, and in turn, actually having the stories happen. Of course, scary stories. The visuals are wonderful, and the scares are genuine. No reliance on gore or bass pounding for no reason, the story will grab you. Finally one that is on a must see list for horror movie fans, check it out.
