My quick rating - 5,7/10. I have to put this right on par with the first, although the first has the lean on the original idea, this one doesn't have an annoying lead bothering you. The same principal applies and uses a good method of incorporating the characters in with the ones from the first. Granted it was just creatiev writing, but it was done well. Again, the major drawback for this one, for me, was that "death" got a bit more hands on in this, not just setting things in motion, but actually doing things that wouldn't just be plausible to happen. That took away the mystic of the "leaky air conditioner" or "loose wire" type feel when tubes just started getting ripped out of place on their own type thing. But again, good movie, so just take the first two, combine all the good and remove the bad element into one movie, and you have a sure fire winner lol. Or do as they did, keep spreading the flaws out over sequels until you get it perfect (maybe number 6 will be just that).
