During the Civil War in 17th-Century England, a small group of deserters flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. They are captured by an alchemist, who forces the group to aid him in his search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field.

My quick rating - 5,4/10. Giving this movie stellar ratings is like loving a supermodel for her beauty. Yes, aesthetics is NOT everything. This movie is all about style, and visuals. Wonderfully shot trippy scenes of soldiers from the English civil war going insane. Really a masterclass in cinematography. Constant weird scene leading into weird scene just building you up for that finish dot dot dot. It never comes. You wait for the whole film watching as your eyes are loving it and then it ends and your brain has to remind you, nothing happened. I can see people will debate it may have been this, or that. Truth is, it wasn't anything. MIght be quite accurate in the history, but the supernatural flow just being snuffed out was a big let down. It pretends to have a plot but just comes off as a bunch of really done 30 second commercials leading to nowhere. After about half the flick I was wondering if it would change and became tired of all the flash and style and just wanted a story as an excuse for making this.
