It is our purpose to examine yet another theory that has gained wide acceptance among evangelical Christians and that tends to undermine the biblical doctrine of verbal inspiration. For lack of a better term, we have chosen to call this "the double-revelation theory." In the following pages we shall present some recent expressions of this view, expose some of its basic fallacies, and then draw our conclusions with regard to this view in the light of the biblical doctrine of verbal inspiration. - Introduction
