Plot

The harsh winter brings more trials than snow for Nessa Clemens. She is forced to tell Reverend McDuff that she doesn't want to marry him, but she isn't able to tell him what is closest to her heart. It is December 1865, and Nessa feels safe and at home in Prairie River.
