The Science 3 Student Text provides age-appropriate scientific information through text, diagrams, and charts, as well as annotated photographs and illustrations. Special interest boxes occur throughout the book and Quick Check sections are included in all text lessons. The Student Text also contains instructions for experiments, activities, and projects. The last page of each chapter provides key terms and concepts as well a brief writing exercise that applies higher-level thinking skills. A glossary and index are located at the end of the book. The Science 3 Teacher's Edition, 3rd ed. contains 94 lessons grouped in five units. Each unit consists of two or three interrelated chapters. Most lessons include additional background information, cross-curricular links, and science activities. The Teacher's Edition also includes useful information about science process skills, the management of activities, and grading. Reproducible pages, a materials list, rubrics for assessing Activity and Explorations lessons, and the alignment of Science 3 with national standards are located in the back of the Teacher's Edition. - Publisher.
