Doctor Dolittle

John Doolittle (Eddie Murphy) had a gift as a child to talk to animals, but forgets about it as an adult until he nearly hits a dog with his car. After hearing the dog yell at him, Doolittle realizes his gift is back and his vetrinary office is overrun by animals looking for medical advice. Doolittle, though, isn't crazy about the idea of treating a rat (John Leguizamo), a manic mutt (Gilbert Gottfried) and a monkey (Phil Proctor). Doolittle doesn't embrace his gift, though, until he is forced to decide whether to treat an ailing circus tiger (Albert Brooks). While deciding how best to help the tiger, Doolittle must also wrestle with the decision of whether or not to sell away his clinic to a big HMO, a choice which is straining his relation with his family.
