Graduating from college, the Muppets decide to take their variety show to New York City in the hopes of making big on Broadway. But hard times ensue as their dreams of instant success become the reality of being struggling actors in New York. To make ends meet, the Muppets take on a variety of menial jobs. Rowlf runs a dog kennel; Scooter is a movie usher, and Kermit begins work as a waiter. One day Kermit is hit by a bus and awakes with amnesia. Taking a new identity as Phil, Kermit finds success as an advertising executive. Unknown to the rest of the Muppets that Kermit is alive, they go on with the show in his memory. One day in the same diner where he worked, Kermit/Phil is spotted and Miss Piggy literally knocks the senses back into Kermit. With Kermit back in the troupe, the show can really go on and success finds the Muppets on Broadway.
