A booklet of brief essays on 10 popular saints, selected for their relevance to modern times. Each essay presents the saints as flesh and blood people living sometimes turbulent lives but able to accomplish their various vocations by their faith and belief in God. The lives depicted range from St. Paul in the first century, to Australia's Mary MacKillop in the 19th Century, and Edith Stein in the 20th Century. Author, a Jesuit priest, has been a chaplain at the University of Sydney and written historical and spiritual works.
