Australian edition of an introductory volume on contemporary Catholic social teaching first published in the USA by the Center for Concern as TOur Best Kept Secret' (1985), and most recently in a fourth, revised edition under the present title (1992). Part one gives an historical overview, while Part two presents summaries of 23 major documents beginning with Pope Leo XIII's TRerum Novarum'. Part three, TThe Australian Context', presents summaries of recent Australian Catholic documents. Part four is a study guide which includes discussion questions and a bibliography. The Australian editor, O'Connor, is a Marist brother who works in Victoria for the Bishop's Committee for Social Justice.
