Plot: Malikai has decided to trust Grace and help her in her cause, whatever that might be. However, this decision was not made until after a chase through the streets and in the air, a confrontation between Grace and the winged woman Onyx, and a crash landing.
The dragons are also attacking again, but they are being controlled it seems. Perhaps by Rainer?

REVIEW:

I was very much looking forward to this issue as issue 1 and 0 were awesome. I have not been disappointed. Here is the breakdown;

FOR:
· The first thing you notice about this book is the art. Turner, while not in the same league as Sy Barry, is simply amazing! His characters are wonderfully designed as are the environments in which they live. Every panel packs a punch and oozes action, excitement and drama. While the quality of the art may not be constant, the lapses of not great art are far and few between. Special mention must be made of the dragon designs, they are simply breathtaking!
· The story was well told. It never lost pace, but never seemed to be hurrying itself either. It was a joy to read.
· The colouring is some of the nicest I've seen, especially on the vehicles. And Grace's hair, you just GOTTA love it!

AGAINST:
· The only bad thing about this book is that it is so short. I felt a little "cheated" at the end, as if they left out half the story that should have been in that issue. I felt there should have been more on the plans to go to Hawaii, but instead it was all just action. Not that that is a bad thing, I just felt there should have been more. But that might also be a sign of how much I enjoyed it and didn't want it to stop.
· The characters haven't really grown. Yes, I know it's only the second issue, but the only additional information we have on any of the characters is that Grace is some king of Goddess and that Onyx works for Rainer. I just felt, again, we should have been given more.

Soulfire 2 is, again, a very enjoyable read. If the series continues with this quality I could happily spend $6.95 on it every month!
