Billy Halleck (Robert John Burke) accidentally ran over a gypsy woman in his car. Her father, Taduz Lempke (Michael Constatine) places a curse on Billy when he touches him and says the word “Thinner”. From that point on, Billy, who was previously obese, begins to drop weight extremely fast. As he becomes more and more emaciated, Billy realizes that the curse will kill him. When the gypsy refuses to lift the curse, Billy turns to his organized crime friend, Richie Ginelli (Joe Mantegna). Richie’s actions eventually “persuade” Lempke to remove the curse from Billy, but at a very high price.
