Similar to Popstars: Deine Chance, the Wii game Popstars is another licensed title about this so named German casting show. The goal of the game is to become a member of a (girls) band by singing and dancing up to 32 songs. Therefore, Wii compatible microphones are supported.

There are two game modes: With Casting, the player can expect the career mode going through challenges like performing songs as well as conducting workshops and making friends (or foes) during RPG-style conversations with competing CPU characters. Before it starts, the player is led to an editor in order to create a personal avatar. As the game aims to a female audience, only girls are editable. A quick game for in-between is offered by the second mode where songs that have been unlocked by overcoming the career mode are offered even for a multiplayer match against or in cooperation with a friend.
