Plot

Product Description A little girl learns what it means to be a big sister and how to share a favorite toy with the new baby, in an expressively illustrated study of sibling rivalry From School Library Journal PreSchool-Grade 1 Illustrated with full-page watercolors in vivid colors which blend into each other, this is the story of two young children who learn to share a favorite stuffed animal. A toddler and a baby (both of indeterminate sex) fight over a stuffed tiger until it is taken away from them, at which time the toddler decides that they can play together and share the toy. Text is kept to a minimum, with only a few words of large type per page, and simple language throughout. Most appealing for children will be observing the changing expressions of the two children and the toy tiger as well, as he rather violently changes hands. The adult is seen only from the child's point of view: feet and skirt. De Lynam's use of blending colors is effective in conveying the feeling of both motion and emotion. This could be a good story to help young children with the concept of sharing. Yvonne A. Frey, Peoria Pub . Lib . , Ill.Copyright 1988 Reed Business Information, Inc.
