Taking place in the late 1800's, a man, appointed Game Commissioner, seeks out and stakes a plot of land high in the pines to homestead and settle on. With nothing left but his dog and his expertise, he eventually finds himself involved in and unexpected game of cat and mouse, only this time He is tracking a different kind of animal.
