Plot

Evan is shocked when the amazing Tour de France winner Dash Shipley asks him to join his team for the Amgen Tour of California. Against his parents' and girlfriend's wishes, Evan risks missing his high school graduation to participate in the grueling eight-day bicycling race. Filled with spectacular triumphs, bitter disappointments, and allegations that Dash is using performance-enhancing drugs, Evan feels overwhelmed. There is planty of sports action in this YA novel about a gifted athlete who surprises everyone, especially himself, in his first prorace when, as the youngest rider at age eighteen, he becomes a sensation with his astounding climbing skills and all-around stunning performance.
