Along Came A Spider

A senator’s daughter has been kidnapped from school. Although security was pretty tight, it appears that one of the teachers is involved in the kidnapping. The kidnapper finally makes contact with the police and requests one specific detective to work on the case, Alex Cross. Alex had pretty much stopped working after one of his partners died on duty, but when he hears about the kidnapping case, he decides to take it on. Alex is assisted by the secret service people that were supposed to protect the senator’s daughter, but failed to do so. Alex believes that the suspect’s motive is simply to reach fame.
