Barbershop 2: Back In Business

Business is good at Calvin Palmer's (Ice Cube) barber shop. Unfortunately, an upscale franchise barber shop, "Nappy Cutz", has just opened across the street. The competition offers lavish facilities and perks, threatening to draw away Calvin's clientele. As business heads down, tensions rise among the staff at the shop, sparking in-fighting. Seeking to compete, Calvin attempts to modernize his own barber shop, with mixed results. When this is insufficient, he goes before the city council, urging them to stop the commercialization and gentrification of the neighborhood. As other businesses around him are bought out, Calvin too is confronted with possible options. In the end, he endeavors to fight for his business, hoping that long years of customer loyalty can help him win out over the franchises.
