Bowfinger

Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) is a film producer who wants to make a movie he’s been saving his entire life for and now has a total of $2184 to film with. He has a script which was written by accountant Afrim (Adam Alexi-Malle). He has camera operator Dave (Jamie Kennedy) who has access to equipment and he hires unknown actors. The final piece to his puzzle is a studio to distribute the film. He convinces Jerry Renfro (Robert Downey Jr) to distribute the film if he can get mega-star Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) to star. Ramsey refuses to be in the movie, so Bowfinger tells everyone he is using method acting and won’t be interacting with them except when filming, so all the other actors walk up to him and public, say their lines, while the film crews film Ramsey reactions. Ramsey unknowingly ends up starring in the movie, but as he is already neuorotic and begins to believe aliens are after him. Ramsey belonds to MindHead a scientology like group which convinces Ramsey to go into hiding, so Bowfinger hires a look alike named Jiff to film his scenes, but needs the actual Ramsey for the big finale.
