After the 9/11 tragedy fire captain Nick (Anthony LaPaglia) has to prepare the eulogies for the eight men he lost when the World Trade Center collapsed. He seeks the help of Joan (Sigourney Weaver) who is an editor and more writing experience. A relationship flourishes with Joan as she helps him put together the words that tug at his heart and that he must deliver for his eight colleagues who were lost. Nick struggles with emotion of the loss as well as well as his relationship with Joan. He has to hold it all together to honor the eight men that were his friends and gave their life to save others.
