Mowgli (Bruce Reitherman) was raised in the jungle by wolves that found him when he was just an infant. Always have had his run of the jungle, it is distressing for him and the other wolves to learn that tiger Shere Khan (George Sanders) has declaired he will kill the man-cub the first chance he gets. In an effort to keep Mowgli safe, he is sent with bear Baloo (Phil Harris) and panther Bagheera (Sebastian Cabot) to be delivered to the man-village. Mowgli doesn’t want to go, especially after becoming closer than ever to Baloo. The decision about where Mowgli belongs versus letting him live where he will happy troubles Baloo as he and Mowgli become pals.
