Based on the famous fight videogame Mortal Kombat. Three warriors, Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson) and Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) are chosen by Lord Rayden (Christopher Lambert) to fight in a mystical shaolin tournament held by Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) which decide whether or not creatures from the Outworld get to control Earth. The fighting takes place on a hidden island loaded with danger.
