This text will serve students from many applied disciplines - examples and explanations are often completely mathematical in nature. The material is organized so that presentations begin at a reasonably elementary level, or are developed from material presented earlier in the book. The chapter covering numerical methods explores techniques for approximating analytic solutions by numerical solutions.
