While searching for a kidnapping victim buried alive, Sully feels overwhelmed. Bobby displays paternal instincts. Faith keeps her pregnancy secret from her husband.
A rapist attacks three victims. Yokas agonizes over her finances, her marriage and her pregnancy. Bosco's jealousy threatens his relationship with Nicole.
Doc gets involved in a tense racial situation after the media focuses on the lone white victim in a bloody restaurant shooting.
After being severely shot in the season finale, firefighter Doherty fights pain and fear when he returns to the station a bit prematurely for a full day of emergencies, but he can't admit to himself that his physical weakness prevents him from peak performance -- and his stubborn pride just might get himself and other fire personnel killed. Meanwhile, a reserved female firefighter (guest star Amy Carlson) transfers in under a cloud of suspicion after she previously charged a popular fireman with sexual harassment.
With her son getting into trouble at school and her husband preparing to remarry, Kim nonetheless becomes determined to bring her family together again.
A revelation about his father devastates Ty Davis and causes tension between him and Sully.
In a surreal episode, the emergency personnel cope with the emotional aftermath of a horrible crash.
While coping with work demands, a recovering alcoholic husband and a disturbing visit with her parents (Mia Farrow and George Dzundza), Yokas confronts her long-held beliefs.
The ordeals of an elderly friend (Jack Klugman) prompt Sully to consider his own loneliness. Taylor regrets revealing a secret about Doherty on the eve of his wedding.
A disturbing visit from his former high school girlfriend (KHANDI ALEXANDER) forces Doc to confront a horrible deed he has hidden for years. Carlos struggles to pass a medical course.
Yokas, Bosco, Sully and Davis fearfully search for a cop killer. Bosco's new superior already hates him.
A secret threatens to destroy Doherty's work relationships and home life. Sully makes a date with his pretty neighbor. Bosco gets violent after his mother is beaten by her boyfriend.
Sullivan is suspended and charged with improper conduct. Kim becomes concerned about Bobby's mood change.
Yokas, Bosco and Carlos are trapped in a basement with a gravely wounded Doc. Sully and Davis finally rescue them. Doherty and the firefighters get into mischief between calls.
While trying to save his childhood friend, who has become a drug addict, Bobby is shot. Sully finds out that Tatiana is an illegal alien and has a son.
As doctors try to save Bobby's life, the police search the city for Bobby's drug-addicted childhood friend, who shot him. They capture the shooter, but Bobby dies.
Carlos is rebellious and unaffected by the tragedies around him. During sensitivity training, however, he proves that he has a genuine passion for helping people. Doherty gets scared when he finds out that his former lover is pregnant.
Doherty plays against his rival firefighter (football star JASON SEHORN) in a football game, but the competitors must join forces to battle a deadly blaze. Brooke serves Doherty with divorce papers.
Sully tries to solve an epidemic of heroin overdoses by reasoning with a drug dealer. Sully decides to help Tatiana become a citizen--but not by marrying her.
Doc proposes marriage to Sara, but she wants to move to Philadelphia. Doc also intercedes on behalf of a pneumonia-stricken single mother.
Yokas rebels after Fred cancels their weekend together in order to compete in a silly contest.
Sully takes Tatiana to meet his mother, and offers her a way to get her Green Card. A kid takes a gun into his high school. Faith has a physical exam.
