The Net
This show is based on the box office film in 1998 'The Net'. After Angela Bennett a computer expert opens an unexpected email she is then thrown in to a world of terrorism, drugs and money. The terrorists are called the praetorians everything they do is build around the computer age. So the only way that Angela Bennett can fight back is through her computer but with her Identity stolen and a new one created she is wanted by the government and as one of the top 10 wanted by the FBI she is also on the run. If the praetorians catch her they will kill her. So with the help of an unknown person called the sorcerer the only way she can win is to stop what the praetorians are doing and get her identity back.
Angela accidentally finds her way into a secure database run by a crime syndicate called the Praetorians. As a result, they delete here identity from electronic existence. Angela is forced to go on the run.
Angela sets off an x-ray machine at Columbus Airport in Ohio and is arrested by the police who suspect she poses a bomb threat. She confides in her court appointed lawyer, and asks for his help to recover her laptop which has been seized as evidence by the police.
Whilst trying to evade capture by the Chicago Police Department, Angela takes a bullet in her left arm and requires medical treatment. Just before her laptop battery dies, the Sorcerer tells Angela to seek help from a doctor he knows at Lincolnwood Memorial Hospital in Evanston.
The Praetorians are looking to buy a russian satellite for their communications network, and they engage in stock market manipulation in order to raise the necessary funds. Angela goes undercover at a stock brokerage firm in an effort to foil their plan.
In an attempt to get her life back, Angela decides to fake her own death. In Oregon, she becomes acquainted with Kyle, a law student at the university where her father used to work as a professor. When Kyle's uncle, Judge Mayall, is falsely accused of distributing child pornography, Angela steps in to help clear his name.
While working as a barmaid, Angela befriends the owner and his wife. A witness to the bar owner's murder, Angela is torn between helping the widow bring her husband's killers to justice, and avoiding revealing her identity to the cops.
Angela's old friend Daniel has been hacking state lotteries. She learns the Praetorians are doing the same thing and she tries to stop Daniel from hacking the Mississippi lottery. In the process, more of her painful past is revealed.
River guide Angela helps programmers on holiday debug a system the Praetorians do not want fixed.
The Praetorians help a convicted hacker escape. Sorcerer sends Angela to meet a man named Mariano and tells her about the hacker and they try to find out what the Praetorians want from her. They discover they want her to hack into power plant computers so they can control them.
A cult leader exposes Sorcerer. Angela meets the 16-year-old genius who changed her life.
Angela counters a Praetorian plan to bring down the world diamond market.
Searching for a missing activist, Angela uncovers a scheme to dump nuclear waste in the ocean.
The Praetorians plot to gain control of cutting-edge music when Angela and Jacob uncover a murder.
The Praetorians set up a camera accessible via the Internet in a student's dorm in an attempt to trap Angela.
Jacob gets involved in on-line gambling scheme and needs Angela's help to pay his debts back. They wind up in Las Vegas in some high stakes gambling. Meanwhile, Trelawney is told he has to clean up the mess he left behind with Hearney.
Angela is concerned about Jacob's obsession with an internet cult leader.
A 14-year-old girl with a photographic memory holds the key to a Praetorian code.
Angela has to try and stop the seemingly unstoppable Millennium Bug after a programmer is killed who was close to finding the solution.
A sinister new drug leads Angela and Jacob to a showdown with the Praetorians. Angela becomes an FBI CIC agent.
Agent Angela must put a stop to cyber cast wrestling matches fought to the death.
Angela and Jacob go to high school to find the young creators of a chemical weapon.
Angela and Walter are in hot pursuit of a clever murderer who spies on his victims using the internet.
