Plot

Six people sat down to dinner at a table laid for seven. In front of the empty place was a sprig of rosemary - in memory of Rosemary Barton who had died at that same table a year before. A toast was drunk to Rosemary, there was a pause, and one of the party slumped down in his chair, fighting for breath. 1945.
