DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits superb computer animation that is certain to visually excite the whole family. Images are sharp and finely detailed, with excellent dimension and “shadow delineation.” Colors are vibrant and eye-popping, with bright hues and deep blacks. The picture is smooth and solid, with very little to distract in the way of edge enhancement or pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack offers a sonic spectacle with a spatial soundstage that is fully engaged in a manner that is downright liberal and creative. This film's audio makes wonderful usage of the split surrounds, serving to consistently and effectively impart the sense of envelopment and expansion. Another noteworthy aspect of the soundtrack is the many creatively selected and crafted sound effects. Fidelity overall is excellent, as is the natural tonality of the dialogue. Voices are presented at a comfortable listening level. The music is also a delightful recording with impressively wide imaging across the screen. Last but not least, there's a generous dosage of deep bass, along with .1 LFE activity. (Perry Sun)
