Story Synopsis:
Mickey and Mallory (Harrelson & Lewis) are Natural Born Killers and are rapidly becoming media darlings. As they make their way across the Southwest committing abominable acts of mayhem and murder, they begin with the help of bloodthirsty media to attract a cult following, particularly among our impressionable youth... all delivered in hyperkinetic style. Make certain the kids are out of the room! (Laurie Sevano)
DVD Picture:
Viewed through the component video output, the non-anamorphic 1.85:1 DVD picture has both color and black and white scenes, among other film formats like sequences of animation and video that are nicely rendered. Colors are subtly rendered with rich hues and natural fleshtones. Contrast and shadow delineation are pleasing throughout, as is the overall image quality.
Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack is a nicely spatial experience. Deep bass is present via the .1 LFE. The audio is sometimes aggressively spread throughout the soundfield, but often is confined to the screen, particularly with the music, which itself is two-channel in nature. (The latter happens often enough as to have likely been a creative intention.) Dialogue is convincingly spatial.
