Story Synopsis:
"Stuart Little "2 continues the story of the little mouse who was adopted by the Littles, a human family living in New York, and treated just like their own son. When his older “brother” George (Lipnicki), starts spending more time with his other friends, Stuart (voice of Michael J. Fox) makes an acqaintance that will perfectly quench his loneliness. When a tiny wounded bird named Margalo (voice of Melanie Griffith), literally drops into the passenger seat of Stuart’s little hot rod, he speeds her away from the evil falcon (voice of James Woods) that is seemingly pursuing her. The two become close pals, but Margalo is in cahoots with the falcon, with no way out. Based on the popular children’s book by E.B. White.

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits an excellent picture, with colors that are rich and vibrant to appeal to the whole family. Showcasing computer animation at its finest, Stuart’s fir and whiskers and the feathers on Margalo and the Falcon are all intricately depicted on this DVD. Images are sharp and finely detailed throughout, with superb shadow delineation and contrast. There is little edge enhancement to complain about, but pixelization is noticed, breaking up finer details at times. Nonetheless, this is an excellent visual experience. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital audio presentation features superb fidelity, on a level that is certainly on par with the current best of the breed. Much of the soundtrack’s spatiality is defined by the music, itself an excellent recording and also having a nicely palpable, holosonic™ presence. The instances of atmospheric effects are presented, usually with subtlety, yet also with a convincing sense of expansion and envelopment. There are also several neat instances of multidimensional engagement, including the split surrounds, such as in Chapter 3, as Stuart struggles to maintain control of a toy airplane he is flying. The dialogue is a great recording, in and of itself, with voices having impressively natural tonality and spatial integration. Finally, to top this all off, the low-end is clean, distinctly articulate with the music, and even significant at times with some engagement of the LFE channel. All in all, this is an excellent soundtrack production that results in a delightful and entertaining listening experience. (Perry Sun)
