"The Foresters does not pretend to be a potted formal history. Instead it seeks to express some of the major concerns of the profession in the early part of this century through the lives and works of five individuals. It was overseen by a Tasmanian group of Institute for the whole Institute. Many members sought out past records, photographs and anecdotes with an enthusiasm matching that of the early foresters who valued forests and saw the prospects of perpetuating a renewable resource for future generations. The actual writing was done by Athol Meyer while Joerg Andersch was responsible for the layout and art work"--Front cover flap.
