The Wrong Man

Manny Balestrero (Henry Fonda) is an ordinary man, minding his own business as a musician in New York City. His wife needs dental surgery. In order to pay for it, he goes to his local insurance agent's office to inquire about borrowing against his life insurance policy. Workers at the agency mistake him for a man who robbed the office the year before. They call the police. In a series of anxious reactions, Manny only makes himself look more guilty than he is. It doesn't help when his wife, Rose (Vera Miles), has a nervous breakdown at the trial. It looks like she expected him to be caught all along and now she is able to finally fall apart.
