Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan), along with his partner in crime Willie Grimes (Larry Fessenden), were premier grave robbers in their time. When Blake is sentenced to death due to crimes of murder and grave-robbing, he spends the night before his meeting with the guillotine baring his soul to Father Francis Duffy (Ron Perlman). Blake maintains his innocence on the charges he has been sentenced with, but he quickly begins to detail for Father Duffy the details of his grave robbing and corpse peddling, and how he and Grimes got started in this eerie business. From their days of apprenticeship as young men, stealing trinkets from corpses, he details the steps they took to get to their lives of today.
