At the Mercy of My Foes, Alfred the Great, Conqueror
After a mine damages the tank, Jeb and the crew search the remains of a destroyed German armored column for parts. Waiting there are General Priess, a brilliant German Panzer tactician and a former student Helmut Kohl, a Nazi zealot. Kohl murders Priess' wounded aide to prevent ruining an ambush set for Jeb and Gus. Priess shoots Kohl rather than have him dishonorably murder Gus. Priess has squared off againt the Haunted Tank previously in issues 168 and 170.
