Candice Renoir: Season 5

After a well-deserved vacation, Candice goes back to work as if nothing had happened to David Canovas, and resumes the investigations attending a company meeting where one of the employees, Anna Clement, is found dead. The team discovers that Anna had lied to get the job and was living apart from her husband and daughter to keep it and avoid being discovered. A search of her apartment reveals that she was receiving flowers from an alleged lover and her husband confirms a change in her behaviour.

After her car accident, Commander Renoir with a collar and splint on her leg, returns home and drives her children crazy, thinking that they should be at her service. Trying to get rid of her they ask Aline to take her for an X-ray and spend they out. The head of the IJ receives a call to attend a crime scene where a corpse has been found in a caravan after a fire. Candice can't stay still and manages to get there and find a 18-year-old boy, about to marry, member of a family of sedentary Catalan gypsies. Although still on leave, Candice insists Leclerc to go back to work. To stop being worried, her children will provide her with a wheelchair, which will exasperate and worry her teammates, unable to stop her follow with the investigation on her own. She will discover that the deceased was in love with Rose Martin, a "paya", which would explain the flower that he had tattooed on his chest. Everything points to a crime of passion.

A motorcyclist attacks Yann Costa on the terrace of a cafe at eight in the morning and hunts him down when he tries to escape. Fortunately, the young man receives only superficial wounds. This new investigation, three weeks after the last one, allows Candice to take her mind off Canovas and to resume the partnership with Captain Dumas so the team can regain its balance. The first investigations lead them Sète secondary school, where sex internet videos of three girl students are causing a stir among the educational community. The common denominator of the recordings is Yann, who turns out to be a seductive young man. The team suspects that someone wants to take revenge on him.

The morning after the incident with Jennifer, Candice fears she will be rebuked at work. She is late for work and takes a shortcut, when a stranger forces her stop the car, because he has found the corpse of neighbour, Delphine Morine fallen on the stairs of her home. The PTS (Police technique et scientifique) confirms it is murder. The victim was a clerk in the civil court dealing with tutelage. One of the supervised adults, Adam Bastelli, photographer, becomes the main suspect. Chrystelle's substitute, Lieutenant Valerie Alger, joins the team.

Candice and the team investigate at an equestrian centre where a young woman is hysterical and covered in blood. Then a body is found, shot in the head.

Candice visits Hervé Mazzani's clinic, physiotherapist and former partner, with the excuse of a pain in her knee. At 4 am, Mehdi and Antoine wake her up for a breaking in the villa of Thierry Barbet and his daughter Emilie, during which he received a 10,000 volt shock from a taser. The house has security surveillance from the company "Sud Sécurité", one of whose employees is Phil Hermann, the prefect's unbearable nephew, who was fired from the police a few months after his last assignment in Sète in Candice's team, and who is the owner of the taser. Nothing was stolen from the house and the team is sure that Phil is not a thief. Back at Hervé's office and about to resume their relationship, Candice receives a call from Phil saying that he is being chased.

Candice surprises her children rehearsing a song and thinks it is a surprise for her birthday. At the police station, Leclerc imposes a journalist on her: Victoire Filippi will follow the group for an article, but since she does not follow the rules the Commandant imposed, Candice dismisses her. Victoire tries to win over Mehdi for his performance in the previous case, killing a serial rapist; Mehdi accepts a drink with her to make Claire, distant after their love affair, jealous. The next morning, the team, with a hungover Mehdi, must investigate the murder of Patrick Astier, a renowned journalist whose body has been found inside the tank of a fish farm, half eaten by eels. He had uncovered a case of oyster food poisoning and did not have the sympathy of oyster farmer Jean-Yves Losserand. But he was also Victoire's last boss.

While her children leave her alone to attend her ex Laurent's wedding, Candice and the team investigate the murder of Élodie Tardieu, 38, at her house, stabbed. Although it looks like a robbery gone wrong, Candice believes it is a passion crime. Other women were robbed after arranging dates through "SiProche" app. Candice and Leclerc date Élodie's last contacts at "SiProche" as possible suspects.

The body of Stéphanie Rochet, an activist fighting for the rights of prostitutes, is found. Although she's suffering from a severe headache, Candice starts searching the victim's home with Mehdi, where they find clothes and records which had belonged to Stéphanie's mother, a prostitute who was murdered in 1975. That night, while Candice is studying the dossier at home, Fun, the dog of the Renoir's, makes her fall and she bumps her head onto the floor, unconscious. Antoine and the team are overwhelmed but continue with the investigation. While Candice is in a coma, she finds herself in 1975 investigating the murder of Stéphanie's mother, but she is a mere inspector, surrounded by male detectives which ignore her and want her to typewrite and make coffee.

While investigating the murder of Stephanie's mother in the 70s, Candice is reunited with David and does not want to leave him, so her coma worsens. While currently Medhi and Val are about to solve Stephanie's murder.
