Indian Matchmaking: Season 1

Meet the matchmaker, Sima Taparia, from Mumbai. She travels to where the clients live and often meets with the parents and the person looking for a match. This episode shows some of the requirements the clients are looking for and the variety of backgrounds that Sima deals with.

Sima returns to Mumbai to meet with a new family. This episode shows the outcome of a first meeting and preparations for meeting another match. We see the variety of personalities from quiet to outgoing and a negative personality, as well as a very positive client.

Heartbreak and disappointment temporarily replace Nadia's positive attitude. Apurna finds someone she can talk to, but he asks Sima for an introduction to a more open woman. Pradhyuman has another discussion with his sister and Sima sends him to a life coach

Nadia & Shekar meet in Chicago and enjoy their time together. Pradhyuman finds himself opening up to and learning from the life coach. Vyasar meets Sima and we learn about his background. Apurna now has something to look forward to.

Akshay's family is very involved in finding the right wife for him, but he doesn't speak up for himself. Vyasar and Manisha don't appear to be a match according to their horoscopes, but? Jay meets some of Apurna's friends and it's easy to see that she's become more open.

Vyasar & Rashi seem well matched, but the episode ends with Vyasar confessing his big secret that he must share! Akshay is still difficult to match, but Preeti, his mom, has given him a deadline. The very pleasant, but highly independent Ankita is a challenge to match, but she does seek advice from others. Sima asks for help from Geeta, another matchmaker.

Searches for love continue, even though modern times make marriages as fragile as biscuits.

Akshay says yes, and as his wedding nears, happy couples acknowledge that marriage requires adjustment and compromise.
