When reserved scholarship student Ruby Bell witnesses an explosive secret, she finds herself in the crosshairs of privileged and arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort. She is working towards her lifelong dream.

After the ruined welcome party, Ruby does everything she can to ensure that the upcoming fundraising gala goes off without a hitch. That's why she doesn't like the fact that James is now forced to be part of the committee.

Ruby and James get closer than ever before in London's Beaufort Store. But a surprise encounter with James' parents brings Ruby back down to earth - she doesn't belong in his world.

After the party at Cyril's, nothing is as it was before. The rumor mill is churning and Ruby's feelings for James are going crazy. James is put under pressure by Mortimer and finds himself caught between two completely different worlds.

The highest high is followed by the lowest low. The fundraiser is a complete success, the letter of recommendation is safe and Ruby and James have finally grown closer. But Mortimer catches them at the worst possible moment.
