Boston Legal: Season 4

Carl Sack is brought in from the New York branch to act as office "enforcer." Shirley is sued by Stanford University after she backs out of a donation. And a new lawyer, fresh out of law school, is assigned an unwinnable murder case.

New lawyer Katie Loyd and Jerry take on their unwinnable murder trial. Shirley invites Lorraine to join the firm as a new associate. Denny lusts after the new associate and immediately invites her to sleep with him. Alan warns Denny to stay away from Lorraine. Denny speculates with Alan about the nature of the relationship between Shirley and new boss, Carl Sack.

Carl and Denny bet on the outcome of their cockfighting case, a teenager who is HIV positive sues her school for only teaching abstinence, and Jerry begins to have romantic feelings for his new colleague.

A general sues the military because he was fired after coming out. The firm's latest hire takes a custody case involving child bullfighting. Alan's "word salad" returns over Lorraine, and Denny finds out about Shirley and Carl.

A woman who intentionally and maliciously avenged her daughter's death asks Alan to provide her with a temporary insanity defense. Meanwhile, Katie and Jerry try to get a questionable sexual offense conviction vacated for a client.

Denny gets in hot water when he fires a lawyer who rejected his sexual advances because she is too fat. Meanwhile, Jerry defends a woman in a case involving "objectophilia"

Whitney takes a case involving a police officer charged with murder after shooting an unarmed African American youth eight times, Clarence sues YouTube for defamation, and Alan defends Denny against the overweight lawyer he fired.

Alan defends Denny after he is charged with soliciting gay sex in a bathroom stall. Shirley defends a shock jock in a First Amendment case, and Katie begins investigating Lorraine's background.

After Denny and Alan lose a lawsuit against the National Guard, they try to join the group and are rejected because of their age. Shirley defends her granddaughter after she is expelled for shredding a standardized test.

The firm is sued by one of its environmental group clients because it isn't "green" enough. Alan tries to help Clarence, who cannot make his house payments because of skyrocketing adjustable mortgage rates.

Much to the chagrin of his firm, Denny takes on a first-degree murder case without anyone's help, while Jerry and Katie agree to seek compensation for a woman whose husband fell under the guise of a shady lawyer who convinced him to divorce her.

A man whose sperm was used without his knowledge to impregnate a woman tries to get the court to force her to have an abortion, and Alan and Shirley are opposing counsel. Jerry defends Leigh after she is fired for hugging a student.

Denny and Alan unknowingly sleep with the same client, who is trying to block the building of a nuclear power plant. Opposing counsel is Shirley's old friend from law school, which makes Carl Sack very jealous.

Sack becomes increasingly frustrated with the firm's lawyers constantly taking on cases that don't make any money, and finds a potential new love interest to replace Shirley. Meanwhile, Denny and Alan prepare for their Coast Guard test.

Alan takes on an old hated nemesis in a case involving a shooting death after an ambush interview on a tabloid TV show. Shirley takes a case for an old friend, a troubled Vietnam veteran, who finds himself in dire straits.

Shirley pursues a court order to euthanize her father, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease. The residents of Nantucket petition for the right to have a nuclear weapon, and Jerry is sued by a sexy female companion.

Alan is given the opportunity to present an appeal to the Supreme Court in the case of a mentally challenged man sentenced to death for the sexual assault of a young girl.

Denny Crane falls for a rancher client who hires him to sue the FDA over cloned meat. Shirley and Alan sue the Democratic Party over pledged convention delegates switching their votes to the other candidate.

While the firm takes on legalization of prostitution and accepting female priests into the Catholic church, Denny Crane contemplates an offer to seek the Republican nomination for president.

The town of Concord wishes to secede from the United States, and Alan and Denny act as opposing counsel in the case--a case that could cost them their friendship because their opposing views on patriotism and dissent.
