Detective inspector Anita returns to her hometown after a 15 year absence. She dreads meeting the people she's long been avoiding. On the way there, she's called back to duty, because a body has been found on the shore by Glerársandar.

The appearance of the injured girl changes the investigation of the death of the tourist, but the lack of ambition and mediocre work ethics of the police complicate matters. Anita strengthens her bonds with those who are closest to her.

Anita makes a serious error while interrogating the girl, the team tries to get their act together before everything falls apart. The widower arrives in Iceland and shines a light on the case that starts to take on a whole new shape.

Gusti interviews Lena and finds out how his colleagues have made a botch of things. Frida's under pressure and the imminent arrival of Gusti to town, which encourages Anita to look for assistance in a familiar place.

The autopsy confirms murder. Salomon visits Helga and Elin while Anita battles Gusti who has extended his stay. Cold cases lead to new information. A lovers' soiree takes an unexpected turn.

Another body is found, which is connected to one of the cases that Frida and Anita are investigating. Mother and daughter are taken aback and Salamon and Anita's relationship creates an unexpected opportunity for the investigative team.

Salomon and Anita's past is more important that anyone can suspect. Ragnar is updated about the status of the case and together Gusti and Anita put in action the most difficult project of her career and life.
