This listing takes in several series (all made by Granada, between 1984 and 1994) in which the late Jeremy Brett played the great detective :- The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, The Sign of Four, and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Granada Television had set themselves the task of filming every one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. A number of the mysteries were still waiting to be filmed at Jeremy Brett's death in 1995, but Granada decided not to continue without him.
A headstrong but titled suffragette slips into the power of a murderous con artist.
A governess is arrested for the murder of her employer's wife.
Sir Robert Norberton, a race horse owner, is under a lot of pressure due to his debts and has been acting strange of late. Holmes and Watson head to Shoscombe Old Place, Sir Robert's stables, to investigate.
When William McCarthy is found dead, the son with whom he had just quarreled is charged with murder.
Violet Merville is determined to marry the man she loves, who Holmes knows has already murdered one wife.
Holmes thinks a woman's claim to have seen a man at her upstairs bedroom window is related to the theft of several apes.
