The trial of two robbers-turned-convicted murderers closes with their acquittal. As he takes care of the now orphaned Felix Neubauer, Alex's past finally catches up to him, and Semir must help his partner in tying loose ends.

The infamous "Child Bomber" takes his war to the Autobahn Police when Semir and Alex manage to rescue one of his two daughters, both of whom are among the multitude of the institutionalized madman's victims.

The death of a German diplomat brings eyes on a retired spy, whose efforts to find her husband's killers interfere with Semir and Alex's plans to apprehend the same people. Also, Semir begins dating Andrea again.

An unusual encounter with foreign diplomats spurs a dark chase for Semir and Alex. The manhunt becomes personal when the cards begin to fold according to a wicked omen in one of Semir's dreams, and Andrea becomes a part of the problem.

When Alex discovers Jackie as one of three masked bikers in a bank heist, he lets her run. Later, he investigates his foster sister's motives undercover at a local dirt bike club, unaware that the other two criminals are among them.

Matthias Licht, a former policeman-turned-bodyguard, seeks help from Semir and Alex when the daughter of his client is kidnapped by an infamous Russian mafia.

Semir drives to Belgium when a call with Dana, his eldest daughter, takes a turn for the worse. He soon finds himself in the crossfire of both a massive human trafficking operation and the Brussels police, with Alex in tow.

Semir and Alex's vacation is cut short after a corpse is found on the outskirts of a race track, where they are invited as VIP guests for a DTM event. Things worsen after one of the drivers - one of Alex's childhood friends - is abducted.

The bombing of an anniversary party leads Semir and Alex to mobster Grundmann and Markus Hofer. The latter snaps after his son is assassinated, his eyes set on one officer: Jenny Dorn.

The death of Officer Dieter Bonrath leaves the Autobahn Police shaken as the manhunt for Markus Hofer continues. In this, Jenny meets police psychologist Isabel Frings, and Semir and Alex must later find an unwitting asset in the madman.

A robbery turns personal when Susanne's boyfriend, firefighter Tommy Gernhardt, flees the murder of a suspect and is revealed to be involved. Meanwhile, Jenny struggles at work in the wake of her late partner.

Susanne is assaulted by three teenage delinquents, but identifies one. To prevent her from testifying in court, they start attacking cops sporadically and psychologically. Semir also revisits Alex about the death of Markus Hofer.

When a football player seemingly commits suicide, Alex and Semir find that blood money is on the line, motivated by love from one of his fellow teammates.

The sudden abduction and disappearance of Semir prompts Alex, with help from Jenny, into a tenacious rescue attempt to save his partner. Also, DA Sander and Frings share a personal displeasure that pertains especially to the latter.

A good day for Semir, Alex, Jenny, and DA Sander turns upside down. Semir and Alex are split up in a hostage negotiation against an ex-commando, whose target brings the latter two into harm's way: police psychologist Isabel Frings.
