CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Tony Braun, the son of Las Vegas casino magnate Sam Braun, is found dead of an apparent drug overdose.
The detectives hunt for clues relating to a missing college freshman. Their hope of finding her alive diminishes as all of their leads on her turn cold.
A construction worker falls off a tall building. Forensics determines that he died prior to the fall. Another case involves a boy who suffocates to death at his therapist's house late in the night.
Shameless yet rather popular "cool" high-school bully Barry Shickle is found shot in the boys' bathroom. Shy Dennis Fram, a favorite daily victim, was at his wits' end. The school authorities couldn't help, but his sassy sister expected her lover, the coach, to pull Barry in line. Destitute veteran Lt. William "Moses" Cartson's corpse is found dumped in a woodland. He was considered a bothersome beggar, especially by a bouncer.
A scuba diver (at least a man who dresses like one) is found dead, fully equipped with an oxygen tank, on a tree in a burned forest.
A woman is found dead at a spa while a young man is found burying dead bodies.
A woman is found dead in a locked room while another died when her car is hit by a train.
The death of a woman named Mona whose body was dumped in a sand pit leads Grissom and Catherine to a fetish club run by Lady Heather. Since Mona was a dominant, Lady Heather was surprised that her employee was tortured and suffocated to death. This leads Grissom to conclude that the victim was a 'switch', someone who could play both the dominant or the submissive role.
A casino was brutally but clumsily robbed by at least four trigger-happy fiends, the men of which wore female wigs. Painstaking identification efforts lead to ex-con serial killer Tammy Felton and accomplices, but one by one is found murdered themselves. The solution comes only after links are found with the bizarre shooting of a desert hamlet's only store's clerk, discovered by state trooper William Spencer, who messed up the crime scene despite long experience.
The investigation of the death of a petty con man/drug mule leads the CSI team to Brass' daughter Ellie.
Major home developer Robert Fairmont is found unconscious in a hotel elevator, probably staged. Widow Julia knew about his serial adultery and approved his organs to be donated and the rest of his body cremated, having been released as he died naturally of an aneurysm, but the doc may have overseen heavy metal poisoning. Dandruff traces to his suspiciously devoted secretary and confidant Claudia Gideon. The ladies have a surprising common past.
When a young woman riding a horse finds a body of a woman inside a pipe in a construction site, Grissom and his team investigate the murder. Soon they find another woman's body and coroner Dr. Albert 'Al' Robbins notes that the women are very different despite being sisters. Their further investigation indicate the Donna Marks was a reclusive woman, maybe agoraphobic, while Joan Marks had a different behavior. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick investigate the murder of the hunter James Jasper in the woods. James was an insurance broker and an experienced hunter, but was not wearing the safety vest. Catherine, Nick and Detective Vega learn that Jasper and his wife Linda had lost their jobs. When they find a one-million dollar life insurance on behalf of Linda, his wife becomes their prime suspect.
A staged suicide harks the return of a serial killer. Catherine and Gil Grissom, while at court, finds the the residing judge looks exactly like this killer. Grissom investigates the judge's past and finds a startling answer.
Wealthy Roy Logan acts suspiciously when withdrawing $1,000,000 cash and his blood on his hands, but must be released for lack of a crime. When Catherine rushes after him with his spectacles, she gets a phone-call and is shown a severed finger proving Logan's adulterous lover Amanda Freeman was kidnapped. Logan ignores her advice, almost greedily handing over the ransom without proof of life, and Amanda is found where indicated- murdered days before.
A body is found in the body farm. He died from what looks like a bullet wound, yet Dr. Robbins and Grissom can't find any bullet fragments. Instead, they found bits of ground beef inside the wound track. The team links this death to an arson case. The investigation takes a turn when the 12-year-old daughter of the deceased's fiancée has been a victim of sexual assault for some time. Back at the lab, Sara asks for a 6-month leave, citing that she doesn't feel at ease at work with her co-workers, especially with her boss, Grissom.
An ice hockey player dies during a game.
Grissom studies Ananda's Vegas Buddhist monastery where four Thai monks were fatally shot in the forehead. Forensics also show the presence of hostile restaurant owner Peter Hutchins Sr. and his son, Pete Jr. Eventually, possible theft is considered. Catherine's mentor Jimmy Tadero falsifies evidence concerning the case of violent repeat-offender Dwight Kelso, who maintains his innocence on his deathbed.
A bus heading to Las Vegas skids off the highway, leading to many deaths and even more injuries. The team suspects that this is no mere accident.
A young woman is found dead inside a heavily secured house. The position of her body strikes a chord in Nick's memory, prompting him to believe that he might be the next target.
An old lady is found dead with a stab wound in her chest. There are over 20 cats in her house.
Grissom and Sidle investigate the death of someone who was buried in a shallow grave in a park and covered in lye. The autopsy reveals that the victim was struck by a car in the last 72 hours and bled to death. There was no blood at the grave site, however. The accident is traced to a young lawyer who has just started as an associate with a major law firm. Stokes looks into the death of Stacy Warner who is found in the middle of the desert but is determined to have drowned. She was a an extreme sports enthusiast out on a challenging trek but she seemed ill-prepared for the route she took.
Las Vegas's retired police commissioner Duke Rittle was tortured to death after an 'exclusive' party. The ex-con who drove him is found murdered in the car's trunk, but not the last on Grissom's trail. Rittle's young daughter Sasha is missing and the suspect, a socialite chameleon, is seen on a private flight to Miami. Grissom sends Catherine there. Luckily Lieutenant Horatio Caine of the Miami CSI team takes brilliant charge, realizing it's the MO of a Florida serial killer of socialite couples, who spared the girl but eliminated all other witnesses and clearly isn't done yet, even sets a trap for the police.
The body of a woman is found in a shopping cart, wrapped in a blanket with her mutilated face protruding out. The woman was a model named Ashley James whose face can be found all over Las Vegas, on billboards and magazine covers.
