A brit ITV rebootolta Maigret felügyelőt Mr. Beannel, aki franciának álcázott magyar helyszíneken nyomoz, nagyon morózus tekintettel. A Maigret csapdát állít című történetben a felügyelő egy sorozatgyilkos után nyomoz, aki havonta eltesz láb alól egy fiatal nőt, a francia rendőrség pedig tehetetlen. Maigret azonban csavaros tervet eszel ki, s ahogy a címből ki is derül, csapdát állít, ám ezzel veszélyezteti mások életét és a saját karrierjét is.
